Will Cotton, NYU/Tisch

William Cotton is a New York based lighting designer for theatre, dance and opera.

Originally from Alabama, William began living and working around the performing arts at an early age.  He’s held many jobs in the theatre over the years, eventually finding joy in telling stories with light. He holds an undergraduate degree the University of Alabama and his MFA in Design for Stage and Film from NYU.  He is a resident lighting designer and supervisor for Tisch’s Second Avenue Dance Company where he has designed pieces choreographed by Charlotte Boye-Christensen, Shannon Gillen, and Kendra Portier among others.
